Hemispheres is a full album music release by ‘Au Revoir Hands’. Released (digital and vinyl) on November 12, 2021, this creative work is the culmination of 5 years collaboration between Anthony Lyons and Emily Williams who composed, performed, and recorded it. Hemispheres was also produced by Anthony Lyons and made in several locations in Australia and the United Kingdom. Reflecting the collaboration and making process across the northern and southern hemispheres, Hemispheres is an album about the sea, navigation and voyage.

Fusing sounds from the cello, buchla easel synthesiser, beats and samples, Hemispheres explores the worlds of experimental ambient and post-minimal electronics. The album contributes to the genre of contemporary neo-classical music by investigating the ways traditional instrumentation and music structures can be integrated into electronic music contexts. Polyrhythmic devices are applied to beat elements, granular synthesis techniques applied to viola da gamba and harps. Innovative approaches to timbre, spatialisation and production layering are prioritised whilst retaining clear harmonic and melodic frameworks.

Hemispheres has been distributed internationally by Ditto music and is available on all major streaming and download stores, including Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon. The album was also pressed to vinyl by Program Records and is available from select physical stores and the Au Revoir Hands Bandcamp site.
