Immersive sound installation for acollaborative ecology and design project, Song of the Cricket, for the Venice Biennale of Architecture, May-November 2025. The project is focussed around the endangered Adriatic bush-cricket, Zeuneriana Marmorata. For the Sound elements of the project, Song of the Cricket borrows from Vivaldi’s Summer: Allegro non Molto, transposed and magnified into a completely new composition. Over this is layered an interactive global cricket choir. The accompanying sound garden is created from an array of fauna sounds drawn from Northern Italian wetland environments. The cricket’s song serves as a indicator of an ecosystem’s health.

Over 200K attendees experience the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
