This study aimed to determine the prevalence of pathology identified using CT imaging within the fetlock of elite Thoroughbred horses that were considered fit-to-race by their trainers. Based on data from a previous post-mortem study,10 we hypothesised that the prevalence of 1) focal lysis within the subchondral (SCB) and trabecular bone (TB) bone at the level of the PSG would be less than 20%; 2) PSB lytic lesions would be less than 5%; and 3) POD would be more than 70%.
