These are the two datasets accompanying the paper Yuvaraj J., Giblin, R, Russo-Batterham, D, and Grant, G, 'U.S. Copyright Termination Notices 1977-2020: Introducing New Datasets' (forthcoming in the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, 2021).

titles_203 is a set of all titles subject to termination notices under § 203 of the U.S. Copyright Act (which relates to post-1978 grants of copyright). It also includes notices contesting those termination notices (filed by record labels, publishers, etc). and notices withdrawing those termination notices.

titles_304 is a set of all titles subject to termination notices under § 304 of the U.S. Copyright Act (which relates to pre-1978 grants of copyright). It also includes notices contesting those termination notices (filed by record labels, publishers, etc). and notices withdrawing those termination notices.
