The 100 Concepts for Cultivating Creativity card deck can be used by music makers of all ages and abilities, any instrument or voice, and in solo, duo, or ensemble settings of varying sizes and instrumentations. They are a starting point, designed to unlock, inspire, and cultivate possibilities and ideas personal to the user. Key areas of investigation:
· Free improvisation as a tool for creative learning

This resource hopes to encourage and enable music teachers without previous experience of improvisation to learn alongside their students. The cards are being used to teach improvisation at tertiary level to jazz & improvisation students, as well as classical music students. Feedback from professional musicians (improvisers and composers) has shown that they are useful at a professional level as well. I gave formal presentations on the use of the 100 Concepts for Cultivating Creativity cards at:
1. Tempo Rubato (April 12, 2024) – public event
2. Yamaha Melbourne (July 5, 2024) – to piano teachers
3. Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference at Monash University (July 9, 2024)
There are no formal reviews yet. I will update as these things become available.
