A purposeful activity model of genetic variation database curation

This purposeful activity model of genetic variation database curation was constructed from accounts of curatorial practices solicited from curators and database users. These accounts were analysed using soft systems methodology to construct a series of purposeful activity models representing the different worldviews of curation embedded within the accounts. The worldviews were then combined into a single model that is acceptable from the perspective of all worldviews.
