Joika is a feature film based on the true story of Joy Womack, one of the few Americans to penetrate the elite world of the Bolshoi Ballet. The film was written and directed by James Napier Robertson. The cast includes Diane Kruger, Talia Ryder, and Oleg Ivenko. Produced by Tom Hern, Belindalee Hope and Klaudia Smieja-Rostworowska, Joika is a New Zealand/ Polish Co-Production made with support from NZFC and the New Zealand screen production rebate. The film was shot in Poland in February 2022, and premiered at the 2023 Deauville American Film Festival.[2] It also screened at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival and the 2024 Santa Barbara International Film Festival between 15–16 February 2024. My role was to support some cast members with dialect design and acquisition, achieved through several online coaching sessions.
