Research Statement
This exhibition negotiates the iconic modernist gallery space at Heide Museum. The works address the architectural materiality and history of the building as well as the history of the Reed family who are major contributors to Australia's modernist art history.
The exhibition folded a number of disparate histories and knowledge sets to create both a maximalist and minimalist material and conceptual approach to exhibition making at a large scale.
This is a major institutional exhibition that contributes to existing knowledge and contemporary visual art concerns. The exhibition was attended by a significant number of visitors, attracted some media attention and was accompanied by artists' talks and workshops.
