The research is in the fields of painting, sculpture, installation and sound. It speculates on gaps that exist between artworks and their immediate environment of display, the gallery space including its social, political and economic structures.
This research proposes new material and conceptual shifts and possibilities that can address the exhibition space as a political structure rather than a white cube container that needs to be filled.
The opening reception was attended by 100 people and the exhibition was well attended over its month long duration. I have had significant positive feedback from students, colleagues, peers, curators and gallerists. The exhibition was also mentioned and acknowledged through industry social media platforms.
