Time-use survey; percent of daily time that participants spend at different places in Moradab Hill (an informal settlement) on weekdays

Moradab Hill/ Eslamabad is an informal settlement in Iran. This diagram summarises the time-use survey undertaken during interviews with 10 women in the settlement. It shows the percentage of the time that each of the participant spent in four different places. It shows the significance of home as the primary place where all of the participants spend most of their daily time.

This diagram is part of a research that adopts a gender perspective to explore the influence of different places on women’s practices for social interaction and physical activity in the case of Moradab Hill (an informal settlement in Iran). This research was undertaken in 2019, as part of an MPhil studies at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Cambridge. The fieldwork was undertaken in April 2019.
