Supporting animations for figures shown in the manuscript "Convection-permitting climate model representation of severe convective wind gusts and future changes in southeastern Australia". Files include:

  • 20071231.gif
An example of a convective wind event from the BARPAC-M regional climate model, showing the 10 m wind gust and 2 m temperature time series at a point, as well as the spatial 10 m wind gust field. Each frame is a 10-minute interval.
  • 20150103.gif
As above but for a second event.
  • comparison.gif
A comparison of the spatial 10 m wind gust field between two regional climate models for the above events, including BARPAC-M (2.2 km grid) and BARPA-R (12 km grid).

Details of the data and methods used in the production of these animations can be found in the accompanying manuscript.
