Live performances in Albert Hall, Canberra, and City Recital Hall, Sydney, as well as streamed concert on the Australian Digitan Concert Hall, December 14-15 2023. The Australian Haydn Ensemble under artistic direct Skye McIntosh perform an all-Haydn program featuring his three Times of Day symphonies, Morning, Noon and Night, and works featuring the Baryton, including his Divertimento à 8 voci No. 1 in D Major, for Baryton, strings and two horns. The Times of Day Symphonies are unique in their programmatic nature. This was one of the very first concerts in Australia to feature the Baryton, and the first Australian performance to feature the Baryton together with horns. The unique sonorities produced by the "sympathetic" strings on the Baryton pair uniquely with the timbre of two natural horns. This concert was performed on period instruments, and Carla Blackwood featured as principal natural horn on an Andreas Jungwirth copy of a 1790 horn by Johan Anton Lausmann, from Graslitz.

Concert can be streamed on demand here.
