Studying transgender bone health using animal models

This video introduces my PhD topic, how hormone therapy affect bone in the transgender population using animal models. Specifically, I'm studying how estrogen use affects bone in mice, at different development levels - adolescence and adulthood. Estrogen is an important hormone in developing and maintaining good bone health, so changing its level in the body may incur unforeseen issues. Understanding the relationship between hormones and bones will help better inform current healthcare.
