Cleared whole lower urinary tract from an adult C57Bl/6 female mouse immunostained for vascular markers PECAM1 and PODXL and viewed with light sheet microscopy (Ultramicroscope II, Miltenyi Biotec, Germany). Image shows the bladder neck with a short length of ureter and proximal urethra attached. Autofluorescence was used to visualise the organs and shows that vascular networks were continuous between them (visualised using Imaris). Red arrows indicate a blood vessel that projects from the urethra via the bladder neck into the bladder wall.
