<p dir="ltr">Video footage of a severe wind event impacting the Research Vessel (RV) Investigator, on 16th of October, 2023 (03:30:57 UTC to 03:35:48 UTC). The Investigator is operated by the CSIRO Marine National Facility, with footage here shown from a forward-facing camera. The video is taken during the voyage <a href="https://www.csiro.au/en/about/facilities-collections/mnf/voyages-schedules/voyages/2023/october/in2023_v06" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">IN2023_V06</a>: Understanding eddy interactions and their impacts in the EAC, with all data collected during this voyage (including this video) owned by CSIRO, and available under a <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/" target="_blank">Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial-Share Alike 4.0 Licence</a>. The severe wind event can be most clearly seen as an elevated region of sea spray from around the 04:30 minute point.</p><p dir="ltr">This video is in support of a PhD research thesis, "Severe convective wind events in Australia and their sensitivity to global warming", with part of this research supported by a grant of sea time on RV Investigator from the CSIRO Marine National Facility (<a href="https://ror.org/01mae9353" target="_blank">https://ror.org/01mae9353</a>).<br></p>
