The University of Melbourne Herbarium (MELU) houses collections of flowering plants, ferns, bryophytes, algae and fungi, as well as historically important botanical objects and artwork. Established in 1926, MELU is the largest university herbarium in Australia, with an estimated 150,000 specimens.
