This video presentation is a snippet of my PhD, which explores the complex landscape of multilingualism in Ghanaian schools and responds to the urgent need to decolonize linguistics by introducing Global South perspectives. Accordingly, the project seeks to challenge and reframe Western Eurocentric concepts that underrepresent and erase local realities and knowledges. It empowers local voices, reshapes theories, and highlights the importance of alternative frameworks that reflect the lived experiences of people in postcolonial contexts.
