The presentation is a snapshot of results from a national survey to identify attitudes towards people with disability in Australia.
The survey was focused on attitudes that impact the social and economic participation of people with disability of all ages. The survey questioned personal beliefs and attitudes towards stereotypes, stigma and discrimination as well as perceived societal values.
The survey results provide the first population-level data about attitudes toward people with disability in Australia.
The presentation is from the National Community Attitudes Workshop, Melbourne, 28 June 2019. The research was conducted by a team of research academics and community researchers from the Centre of Research Excellence in Disability and Health (CRE-DH) at the University of Melbourne.
