This presentation documents a curriculum redesign project in COMP90007 Internet Technologies, applying Design-Based Research (DBR) and Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) to transform traditional worksheet-based tutorials into engaging, interactive online learning experiences.
The redesign introduces a four-phase model—diagnose, construct, practice, and verify—supported by open educational tools such as Kahoot, Claude AI, Padlet, and Miro.
Findings show improved conceptual understanding, engagement, and transferability across multimodal delivery contexts. The presentation demonstrates how iterative design cycles and cognitive principles can enhance pedagogical effectiveness in postgraduate technical education.
