This submission is made on behalf of the Centre of Research Excellence in Disability and Health (CRE-DH) in response to the independent review of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) announced by the Australian Government on 18 October 2022.

This submission draws on evidence produced by CRE-DH researchers and affiliates. We highlight our work in two key areas of concern to the NDIS Review:

· equity within the NDIS in relation to access, plan budgets and spending, and experiences;

· approaches to enhance the monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness and equity of the NDIS.
