The Assessment for Graduate Teaching (AfGT) instrument is a valid, reliable and comprehensive teaching performance assessment. Approved in July 2019 by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership’s (AITSL’s) Expert Advisory Group (EAG), the AfGT is now considered a mature and robust assessment that is well-prepared to adapt to the changing landscape of initial teacher education (ITE).

The Summary Report, spanning data from 2018 to 2023, with a particular focus on the previously unreported 2022 data, summarises the Consortium's activities during the same period up until the end of 2024.

This document is the Executive Summary of the Summary Report and is publicly available.

Further inquiries about the AfGT can be directed to the AfGT's current host: AfGT Management Team, School of Education and Social Work, The University of Sydney at AfGT.help@sydney.edu.au .
