Doctoral Researcher (Education; Language, communication and culture)

Melbourne, Australia

I am a multilingual researcher from Accra, Ghana. My experiences with languages in contact and multiple linguistic competencies have profoundly influenced my academic journey. I am passionate about interdisciplinary qualitative projects that foster socio-cultural dialogue and investigate how speakers' linguistic repertoires shape sociolinguistic norms in educational contexts, which has implications for pedagogy, curriculum, language, and literacy education. I enjoy scholarships that promote educational inclusion, equity, diversity, and social justice in language and literacy studies. Currently, I am working on my doctoral thesis titled "Planning a Culturally and Linguistically Inclusive Education: Teachers' and Students' Perspectives on Translanguaging." Through this project, I aim to understand how translanguaging can create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment for all students, regardless of their cultural and linguistic background.
