Biomechanics and energetics of neurotypical (un)constrained walking [Bacek2023]

Posted on 2024-05-27 - 06:49 authored by Tomislav Bacek

A biomechanics and energetics dataset of neurotypical young adults (N=21) walking with and without kinematic constraints.

Kinematic constraints include a locked left knee joint in full extension.

The dataset has four (4) groups of data:

(1) RAW data in a .csv (text) format: retroreflective markers, muscle activity, ground reaction forces, and breath analysis,

(2) RAW data in a .c3d format, as exported from Vicon Nexus 2.8.,

(3) RAW data in a .mat (Matlab) format containing marker data, muscle activity, and ground reaction force data, and

(4) SEGMENTED data in a .mat (Matlab) format containing joint angles of lower limbs in the sagittal plane, muscle activity, ground reaction forces, and metabolic cost.

A sample code (Matlab) is also provided, with a SubjectInfo.mat file containing the relevant participant data.
